About The Pumas

Who are the Pumas Basketball Club?

Pumas Basketball Club is one of the largest domestic club’s in WA, we currently have 45 teams registered in the Junior Competition. We have two seasons, summer and winter season, basically from mid-October until mid-April for Summer season and from May to September for winter season so your kids can play 1 season or both.

The good thing for parents is basketball is always played indoors so the weather never interferes with playing or spectating, games are played on Saturday during the day or Friday nights for the older age groups, all games are at Joondalup complex opposite Joondalup shops or the Craigie Leisure centre and games are 2 x 20 minute halves.

The Pumas are always looking for more volunteers to help with committee tasks, with over 360 players there is a lot of work to do for venues, registration, uniforms, trophies and fund-raising so if you can help even if for a limited time please contact a committee member or send an e-mail, remember “many hands make light work”.

We are always after coaches and managers for teams, we encourage teenagers to coach or assistant coach as well, this has proved very successful in recent seasons. Most often teenagers and young adults are great players and have great communication skills with younger players to teach the basics of basketball. We are happy for boys and girls to coach, all potential coaches and managers are welcome at Pumas.

The Pumas Basketball Club prides itself on creating an environment where all junior players can play, develop and enjoy their basketball with the assistance of good coaches and strong parent participation, some of whom also make up the dedicated Committee group.
